the town’s history and enjoy exhibits, tours, demonstrations, vendors, food,
and entertainment throughout the day, on Martinsburg Heritage Days, May 8-9-10.
An opening ceremony will be held
at the Adam Stephen Monument on Friday evening, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. Haunted History & Legends of
Martinsburg tours will be held the on evenings of Friday, May 8 & Saturday, May 9. Cost for the tour is $12.
On Saturday, May 9, a pancake and sausage breakfast
will be held at the Trinity U.M. Church from 8 to 10am. Cost of tickets at the
door is $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
Also on Saturday, May 9, the Martinsburg Public Library
will have a continuous showing of Martinsburg films from the 1920s to the 1950s
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other activities about town include the Relay for Life
Jamfest with live entertainment in the town square from 12 to 5 p.m.; Kayak
float on the Tuscarora Creek from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; free tours of historic
sites between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Adam Stephen House, Triple
Brick Museum, & Tunnels, the Belle Boyd House, Boydville, Sumner-Ramer
Heritage Archives, the Roundhouse, and discounted admission at the
For the
Kids, by George Children’s Museum in the Caperton train station. There will be
free transportation by trolley between featured sites throughout the day on
Saturday.
On Sunday, May 10, there will be a Children’s Games
Day at the Adam Stephen House and a Day of Play at the For the Kids, by George
Children’s Museum.Additional
